Sweet Tooth Modern Mystery Quiltalong (digital)

IMPORTANT: After purchase, our system emails you a receipt. You have 60 days from the purchase date to download the manual before the link expires. The manual provides ongoing access to the quiltalong once you have it, so print and keep it in a safe place. We cannot resend expired links or replace lost manuals.

The manual is a 2-page pdf which provides all the information needed to access a secret webpage with the instructions, video tutorials and vital information for the entire quiltalong. You won’t need the download link again after you’ve download and printed the Sweet Tooth Guide.

Project Details

• There are two sizes, a 54″ x 80″ napping quilt and a 96″ x 94″ queen variation

Fabric Requirements

Napping size (approximately 54″ x 80″)

To achieve successful transparency effects, we designed the Transparency Watercolors fabric line and offer a special Sweet Tooth Half Yard Bundle from the line for this quiltalong. This bundle consists of ½-yard cuts of 22 fabrics from the line. It has ample yardage for the pieced napping quilt top when combined with 3 yards of a contrasting solid or small-scale tone-on-tone background fabric. This needs to be distinctly different from the colors in your half-yard cuts. We recommend a light contrasting background such as Benartex’s Superior Solids Vanilla or White. A dark fabric such as Espresso, Dark Blue or Eggplant makes a luminous version. You’ll also need fabric for the binding (½–¾ yd.), backing (3½–5 yds.) and 58″ × 84″ batting.

The Sweet Tooth bundle is ideal but not required. We will post a preview video with more details on January 10th. This pattern doesn’t lend itself to large-scale or high-contrast prints. No two quilts will be identical even for those using the Sweet Tooth Bundle.

Queen size (approximately 96″ x 94″):

Two Sweet Tooth Half Yard Bundles would provide plenty of fabric for the queen size when combined with 5 yards of contrasting background fabric and 1 yard of binding fabric.

Optionally, you could use 22 different ¾-yard cuts of small-scale prints or solids. Essential details on selecting those fabrics will be provided in the January 10th preview video. We recommend 9 yards backing fabric and 100″ × 98″ batting.

Access to the Pattern / How this Quiltalong Works

Bakers Bill and Weeks will lead you as you manage Sweet Tooth’s bakery truck. Between bakery truck events, you’ll create a one-of-a-kind quilt. All details for this quiltalong, including links to download the six individual assignments and view the supporting videos, will be posted on a secret webpage available to you after your purchase of this quiltalong. These will be available through all of 2025.

After you complete your purchase, our system will automatically email your receipt. If you don’t see your receipt in your inbox, check your junk mail folder. The receipt has a clickable link that says, “CLICK HERE to download the Sweet Tooth Guide to your device.” When you click the link, the Sweet Tooth Guide (a two-page pdf file) will be downloaded to your device; it is usually saved to your downloads folder. It is your responsibility to download the file within 60 days. We are unable to re-send or reactivate expired links.

The Guide provides full access to the quiltalong via a secret webpage called the Bakehouse. This is a fully digital quiltalong, no printed pattern will be mailed to you and no additional emails will be sent, just your original receipt with its download link.

The Bakehouse page has links to download the six assignments, links to video tutorials, a bonus Spotify playlist, a link to the Sweet Tooth Bakery gift shop, and more. The Bakehouse is a private page, please do not share links to the page, the downloads or videos.

You’ll find abundant support and encouragement from fellow participants in the Modern Quilt Studio Patterns and Fabrics Facebook group. We ask that you NOT share any details of the pattern in the Facebook group nor post photos of any part of the pattern.

We are unable to provide tech support for your computer/device/downloads/printer. Many local libraries offer technical help and may also offer printing services.
