The “Mystery” part of this quiltalong has concluded, but you can still join quilters around the world who are just starting their missions making Secret Agent quilts. Those who have completed continue to offer support and encouragement in the optional Modern Quilt Studio Patterns and Fabrics Facebook group.

Spymasters Bill and Weeks guide you and other Secret Agents to perform a series of six quilting “missions”. The missions, including downladable instructions and video tutorials, are available on a secret webpage known as “HQ.” When you purchase this quiltalong you will automatically be emailed a receipt with a link marked “Click to download your Operation Details.” Click on that link to download the pdf (3 pages, 125k) to your device within 60 days or you will be unable to access the quiltalong. Print the file for safe keeping. If you don’t see your email receipt, double check your spam/junk folder. All information about the quiltalong will be communicated through the Operational Details and HQ. You will not receive any additional emails after receiving your receipt with the Operation Details download link.

The finished quilt will measure approximately 51” x 51”. The pattern requires 22 fat quarters for the pieced top in addition to backing, binding and batting. Four quilts can be combined to make a queen-sized quilt. There will be a few simple templates but there will be no paper piecing, appliqué, hand work or fussy cutting.

Specific advice on fabric selection is provided in the first mission video. Our Transparency Starter Bundles is perfectly suited to completing the quilt top with a small amount of leftover fabric or you can assemble your own palette. Some quilters have chosen to purchase the Starter Bundle as well as a 10″x10″ Transparency pack just in case they make a few wrong cuts. You’ll have options within the quiltalong to make your quilt unique.

If you’re new to digital downloads, don’t worry. All you need is an internet connection and an ordinary printer. The Operation Details and Missions (pattern installments) are in PDF format which can be downloaded, saved and read on any device. If your device doesn’t already have a PDF viewer (almost all do), you can download the free Adobe Reader here. Please Note: we are unable to provide tech support for your computer/device/downloads/printer.

The link to download your Operation Details will be active for 60 days only, so make sure to download and save them before your link expires. If you purchase this Secret Agent Modern Mystery Quiltalong together with physical items (kits, fabric, magazines, etc.), there will still be a same link on your emailed receipt. The physical items will be shipped to you separately.
